Bomb Fusing Unit Lanyard Cable Retraction 5D/1476 WW2 WWII Bomber RAF Vintage Aircraft Part.
These were used on WW2 era aircraft to arm bombs as they dropped from the aircraft. If activated the wire would pull out and activate the bomb as a last point of contact and retract back into the unit. Pictures show a similar unit in an Avro Lancaster.
Unknown if used but has been in loose storage for many years so shows surface corrosion, scuffs and marks. However otherwise in good condition. Wire extends and retracts well. Sold untested for display only and "as is".
Great item for display or as part of a steampunk / aviation themed project.
Always willing to combine postage. International enquires welcomed, ask for postage quotes.
